The company will continue to place interested artists on the waiting list but at this time can only consider arrangements for custom work that artists themselves would sell. Thank you. (September 2010) Transformational Threads is pleased to consider opportunities to license images of original artwork (oil paintings, watercolors, illustrations, photographs, etc.) that can be translated into needlework. Appropriate subject matter for hand-crafted thread paintings includes florals, still lifes, landscapes or scenery, animals, architecture such as monuments, cultural depictions, and other realistic images. Regrettably, abstract imagery and portraiture cannot be considered for rendering into thread.
In exchange for the right to use an image for a limited edition of embroidery paintings, Transformational Threads will pay a negotiable percentage of revenue from net sales.
Alternatively, Transformational Threads will discuss arrangements to create limited editions that artists may sell on their own.
Transformational Threads is particularly interested in licensing artists who are women, emerging artists or artists unknown in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area and mid-Atlantic region, and immigrants who are artists.
